Set Default Privilege
Overview
The feature to set a Default Privilege allows you to define which privilege is used by default when multiple privileges are assigned to a single DB connection.
Setting the Default Privilege
Single Privilege: If only one privilege is assigned, this privilege is used for web, proxy, SQL Request, Export Request, and SQL Jobs connections without requiring a Default Privilege setting.
Multiple Privileges: If two or more privileges are assigned, the user must set a Default Privilege separately.
Click the
Edit
button or theGo to Settings
link next to Privileges.Choose the privilege you want to use as the default from the list of assigned privileges.
Click the
Save
button to complete the Default Privilege setting.
If you have two or more assigned privileges but have not set a Default Privilege, you will not be able to connect to the database. When connecting via Agent proxy, SQL Request, or Export Request, the connection will use the Default Privilege.
Changing the Default Privilege can only be done via the web interface. The Agent does not provide a feature to change the Default Privilege. Users must use the web page to change the privilege if needed.
If you change the Default Privilege while already connected using the previous Default Privilege, or if the privilege is revoked, the existing session will be disconnected, and a new session will be established with the new Default Privilege.
