Multi Agent Constraints

This document describes the limitations associated with the QueryPie Multi Agent.

Version Compatibility

  • The Multi Agent is available for use with QueryPie version 10.2.5 or later.

    • For environments running QueryPie version 10.2.5 or later, QueryPie hosts with different versions can be registered and utilized.

    • However, hosts running QueryPie version 10.2.4 or earlier cannot be registered.

  • The Multi Agent maximizes compatibility with QueryPie versions 10.2.5 and higher.

    • Forward compatibility is maximized. If a host with a version that is not forward-compatible is registered, or if an attempt is made to register such a host, an update notification is provided.

    • Updates must be performed manually. This means that for a QueryPie host with an incompatible version, you must download the new Multi Agent software from a compatible source and install it on that host.

    • Full backward compatibility is supported.

DB Connection Port Configuration

  • Connections made via the DAC Proxy utilize a port range on the user's PC.

  • To prevent port conflicts, each QueryPie host must be configured with a distinct Proxy port range.

  • While the maximum number of available ports is 65,000, it is recommended to use 10,000 or fewer.

Additional Considerations

  • There is no limit on the maximum number of hosts that can be registered. However, the performance of your PC, particularly its memory, may affect operations such as retrieving the host list, potentially causing slowdowns.

  • Configuring environment variables during the QueryPie installation is not necessary to use the Multi Agent.
