Policies
Overview
QueryPie’s Data Access Policy is a feature that allows administrators to manage and enforce access policies for data sources within the organization to protect personal and sensitive information. Administrators can apply restrictions, masking, and sensitive data policies at the table and column level for each database connection, ensuring that users or groups can only access the minimum necessary information for their tasks.
Access to Policies Guide
Data Access: Manage access policies for specific tables or columns within a DB connection.
When a policy is registered, only authorized users are allowed access to the specified tables/columns.
Masking Pattern: Manage patterns for masking sensitive information.
Data Masking: Apply masking policies to specific tables or columns within a DB connection.
When a policy is registered, sensitive information in the specified tables/columns is masked according to the designated pattern.
Sensitive Data: Manage sensitive data policies for specific tables or columns within a DB connection.
When a policy is registered, access to the specified tables/columns is logged in the sensitive data access history, and alerts can be set for sensitive data access.
Recommended Guidelines
After creating a data policy, the access restriction applies to all users by default.
Use the Allowed Users feature to grant access to the necessary users or groups only.
Create exception user groups and assign them to Allowed Users to easily manage exceptions for users authorized to access specific data.
